Eurail pass seats reservation-book online or in europe??

Hi,

i am planning to buy a france -beneleux pass.I would be landing in brussels and then take Thalys from brussels to paris and after a few days from there on i plan to travel to nice .

I want to know whether it would be better and cheaper to reserve my seats in advance or to do it once i am in europe.

I am planning to travel neext week so need urgent advice.

thanks

Sooner is always better, but a day or two in advance works also. Fees are the same is my understanding.

Stop in at a train station ticket counter while you%26#39;re visiting Brussels.

Since you must buy your pass before you arrive in Europe, if you know the trains you want to take go ahead and get the seat reservations when you buy the pass.

In the US, Rail Europe charges shipping for seat reservations, but shipping is free for a railpass so I try ot get seat reservations at the same time.

it can be difficult to navigate online systems to get seat reservations charged and printed, or else you will have to wait in long ticket lines once you arrive.

Also, some popular trains can get sold out. I tried to get a seat reservation on a recent Saturday for the next day, on one of 4 TGV trains from Paris to Stuttgart. 3 were sold out and I had to take the least desirable train time.
