kids in provence

I am thinking of taking my 4 kids to france next summer-ages 6-14. What do you think they would like to do in provence?

Stop by the library or bookstore and pick up a book on Provence. It%26#39;s a big area, with plenty of things to do - and since you know what your kids are into, it will help you narrow down your choices.

It%26#39;s sort of like saying that someone is coming to Virginia with four kids, what should they do? You could make a few general suggestions, but you%26#39;d need to know where in Virginia, and what they like before you could give them a usable answer.

We bought Rick Steve%26#39;s guide to France as we were going to places other than Provence. There is also a Rick Steve%26#39;s guide to Provence and the French Riviera. These are as up-to-date as possible and tell you what historic sites are under tarpaulins for cleaning, etc. It also gives walking tours for many of the sites listed. There are other good guides as well, like Lonely Planet and Fodor%26#39;s. Go to a good bookstore and browse through the guides. Look for actual maps, walking tours, recommended tours if you aren%26#39;t driving, info on access to public transportation, things for kids to do, etc. Don%26#39;t get the one with the most pictures if it doesn%26#39;t have the most info. Rick gives a number of suggestions for travelling wiht kids. We liked his guide and then supplemented info where we needed to by e-mailing the tourist bureaus. It%26#39;s good you are starting early to plan because you have time to do this.
