My husband and I will be in Paris for our first anniversary in August and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good restaurants. Money is really no object. We just want really good food and a nice atmosphere. Thanks so much,

I would suggest an extensive search of the reviewed restaurants and then a double check on their website or in Michelin guide to see if they will be open on your desired date as it is in the August vacation month. Plenty to choose from in Paris.

The chowhound consensus at the moment seems to be Guy Savoy – but the degustation menus start at €275 (without wine). We are considering giving it a try when we are back in late spring/early summer 2009 (if we can get our heads round the $AUD 445 (give or take) per head price tag (given wine with the meal will likely come close to doubling that price).
Celebrated my 41st at Taillevent last year - magic (even though it lost a star between visits).
