CDG airport to Lourdes

Would you recommend traveling by train or plane from CDG airport to Lourdes? Mind you we are planning for a half-round the world trip so we will have a bit of luggage with us. We would rather take the train as it should be cheaper than the plane. But if it%26#39;s a lot of hassle and confusing for non-French speakers, we%26#39;d rather pay more and play it safe.

Many thanks for your advice.

Hassle wise there is little difference between taking the train or flying. Either way you cannot travel directly to Lourdes from CDG, since you will have to transfer to Orly airport to fly or travel to the City to take the train. Please check the FAQ sticky at the top of the posting list for relevant websites which will enable you to compare fares etc. Don%26#39;t assume that the train will be all that much cheaper, but it might be the better option if you are concerned about excess baggage charges.

Don%26#39;t worry too much about the language problem, most French people, especially in Paris, speak some English, they just need a little coaxing to use it!
