Transport from Perpignan Station to Argeles Sur Mer.

We are traveling to argeles this summer as a party of five and was wondering if anyone knew the easeist (and cheapist) way of getting from Perpignan Station to Argeles sur Mer. We know there is a train but are unsure about costs and train times. we would also like to hear any alternative suggestions to the trains.

I am in Argeles sur Mer as I write. I came through Perpignan on Saturday.

It cost me €9 by taxi from the station at Argeles to the place I am staying, which is about 2 miles from the station.

If you can get to Argeles by train the local taxi company, Taxis Alazard, has a seven seater (it was parked outside the station yesterday) so if you sort out a train you could call them to arrange a pickup. Their number is 0468810512 - I don%26#39;t know if English is spoken.

You can get train times Perpignan - Argeles here:

One-way fare is €4.10

but note that the new summer timetable starts on 6th July.

An alternative would be to take a taxi direct from Perpignan station - the distance is about 16 miles so you could be looking at €40, but between 5 that%26#39;s not so bad. Sorry I don%26#39;t have any information about Perpignan taxis, but I am planning to spend this afternoon there so if I do find anything I will add the information later.

Finally there are a few buses fropm Perpignan which do run along the main road and go down to Argeles Plage (Rond Point de l%26#39;Arrivee) and various other points but obviously, unless you are staying near where the bus stops, there is still the issue of getting to your final destination.

The summer bus timetables are not yet available but should be on a website shortly:

There are a few buses on Sundays in summer.

I hope that helps - the sun is out today and it is really quite nice. Info about Perpignan taxis later if I come across any.
