Time needed from CDG Terminal 2 to TGV

We are a family of 4 with young kids travelling from Canada this summer, landing at CDG Term 2, going enroute sameday to Avignon. We have TGV tickets, leaving more than 4 hours from the time we land. We can exchange tickets to meet the train that leaves exactly 2 hours from the time we land. But do you think we can make this earlier train? I don%26#39;t remember customs taking very long even in busy summer months - but it may have changed. Alternatively, we can exchange the tickets at the station - but are the trains usually full on the day of departure, especially to Avignon? If we have to wait 4 hours - what on earth do we do at CDG for this period? Do we have time to go out for a short adventure? We travel light and have been to Paris a number of times but this is the first time we ever had to wait 4 hours for a train. Any good suggestions?

I think two hours will be plenty of time. The TVG station is beneath Terminal 2, so depending on your actual arrival terminal (2F, etc.?), it not a very long walk.

If it were me, I would change to the earlier time, and worry about getting on a later train if necessary, but I don%26#39;t think it will be.

Of course, your plane could land a bit late (not typical flying from North America), you could be bussed to the terminal rather than getting a gate, there could be a bit of a delay getting through passport control or picking up your bags.

But, I still think two hours is plenty of time.

Thanks for your thoughts.
