We are doing a barge trip in Sept ending off in Touloise. We have a car and have two days to get to Paris for our return flight.
We were thinking of driving through the Limousine area and maybe staying overnight in Limogues. We would like to see the countryside and preferably, not stay in a large city, however, I am open to any suggestions i r o best route to Paris, charming place to stay etc.

Somewhere in the Loire Valley like Amboise for your overnight stay could be nice. You could stop to see some of the chateaux on the trip. I cant recommend a driving route but if you work out the way you want to go generally, www.viamichelin.fr will provide itineraries for the various sections of the trip.
