train connections from JLP to other tiviera towns

Hi all,

am planning to visit the riviera this month and planning to make JLP as my base.

How well connected is JLP to other riviera towns?

and what would be the mode to travel to Nice, cannes, monte carlo etc.

thanks

JLP is on the railway line that runs all the way from Menton to Marseilles, however it%26#39;s a small place and so only the regional stopping trains (TER) stop there, not the faster inter city ones (IC TER), nor the TGV. It takes about 10 minutes by train to Cannes, 30 minutes to Nice and an hour to Monaco. It%26#39;s very close to Antibes, which is a stopping point for the IC and TGV, and you could probably walk back to JLP from Antibes if you had to. You can get some local buses into the hills from Antibes. For more choice in getting around, you%26#39;d need to take the train to either Cannes or Nice.

The Ligne 200 bus stops close to the centre in JLP and is an alternative to the train if you want to get to Cannes (~20 mins). The traffic should be OK this month.

The Ligne 200 and other local buses go to Antibes too if you don%26#39;t want to walk.

Recommend rail travel for Nice and beyond though. As said above, not all trains stop at JLP, so check timetables carefully.

I did the same last year, the base was in JLP and did travel along the coast by train. As mentioned by other travellers, only local trains are stopping in JLP therefore checking the timetable is a good thing. Antibes train station is approx. 20 min walk from Juan les pins.

There is a train ticket called %26#39;Carte Isabelle%26#39; which gives you the freedom to travel between St Raphael and Ventimiglia for a day and last year cost was 17 Euro
