Can anyone help with the local term for a pint or half litre of beer? In other parts of France it has been called a %26#39;formidable%26#39;, but that has also been a name for a litre in some places. Any advice will be gratefully received!

Asking for a %26quot;petite bière pression%26quot; will get you a 25cl glass of beer. Ask for a %26quot;grande bière pression%26quot; and a 50cl tumbler will arrive!
Salut!

I always ask for either a demi which is a 25cl glass or a pinte (pronounced pant) which is a 50 cl glass.
A pint in France is slightly smaller than a pint in the UK.

Ellonway has it. Ask for %26#39;une pression%26#39; and you will get 25cl as usually imbibed by the French, %26#39;une pression, grande%26#39; and it%26#39;s 50cl as usually imbibed by by Brits. Happy drinking.

Thanks, everyone. We usually ask for une grande pression, but are aware that other terms are used in different areas.
We arrive in Marseille in 3 weeks%26#39; time - hope the weather will be good!
