CDG to Metro Blanche

My flight will arrive at CDG 08:30 on a Monday. I will be travelling with 2 children %26amp; carrying/rolling 1 piece of mid-size luggage.

I plan on taking the RER to Gare du Nord. From there, is it better to transfer to line 4 and then transfer to line 2 at Barbès Rochechouart OR .... at Gare du Nord, walk to La Chapelle and take line 2? Which route is safer and easier?

It%26#39;s an easy walk to La Chapelle and from there it is just 4 stops to Blanche. There is a wide boulevard, actually a pleasant park, when you get out of the metro. Stay on this boulevard and you will avoid the seedier sex shops and barkers along the sidewalk.

The pickpockets can be a nuisance and they seem to congregate around CDG, train stations such as Gare du Nord and major tourist attractions. I wouldn%26#39;t call them dangerous, maybe opportunists.

If your children are young (meaning under 8 or so) I would take a taxi. The metro at Gare du Nord is very very busy and very large. I think a taxi would be a lifesaver for you.

Is anyone familiar with the connection from Gare du Nord to La Chapelle? .... is there an escalator or stairs? I read that there is a tunnel connecting the stations ... how far is the walk?
