Leaving tonight! A BIG thank you!

Well our flight out of JFK is at 9:30pm. Can%26#39;t believe it is finally here! All the months of researching (books and TA) have left me feeling a little burned out and still overwhelmed and under-prepared! At this point we will just %26#39;wing it%26#39;. But at least I know all the scams to avoid! lol

I wanted to thank ALL of you so much - the Paris locals for their expert information %26amp; advice, some of my fellow NY%26#39;ers who are on here as well as travelers around the US %26amp; the rest of the world who posted trip reports and for all the helpful hints and suggestions.

I%26#39;ve wanted to go to Paris all my life and it is finally happening! For any Parisians, if you see a cute woman with blonde hair/bangs and a fashonable middle eastern man holding maps and cameras, perhaps looking lost, say bonjour - it is us! :)

Have a great time and a very happy birthday! I know you still don%26#39;t have reservations for the birthday dinner, but sometimes the best restaurants are the ones you stumble upon accidentally. Paris is full of talented chefs and small quaint places to eat. You will not go hungry on you birthday!

If you do get into %26quot;stumbled -on%26quot; mode...go to the 5th arr. just across from Notre Dame on r. des Grands Degrés and make a reservation at Le Reminet. It%26#39;s lovely. I%26#39;ve never had a bad meal there. Good luck and happy birthday!

Thank you HG - i have copied your suggestion into my itinerary. You are all so awesome!! I think I will just burst into tears at some point in Paris - overwhelmed by the beauty of it and having a moment of sheer joy. :)
