We are going to be staying in Villefranche sur Mer for a few nights mid June and thought we might spend one evening in Nice using the bus or train to get there and back. I%26#39;ve looked on the web and can%26#39;t seem to find any information regarding how late they run to see if this would be doable or if the only option at night is a taxi. Hope someone can help!

According to my timetable the last regular TAM 100 for VsM leaves Nice Gare Routiere 20:00 (Monday to Saturday) They have recently introduced a night N100 bus from the airport that leaves Nice Port 22:15 23:45, 1:15 and 2:45 bound for Menton stopping at Villefranche Octroi

Please do use the night bus as we hope the more people use it, the more frequently they may run it. We%26#39;ve used it a couple of times, once to get from Monaco to Nice at 11.30, and once to get from Nice to Monaco at about 10.30. It was practically empty and consequently very fast.
One word of caution tho%26#39; - I was once planning on getting the bus, but got a lift with a friend instead. She dropped me off just where the Quai des Etats Unis joins the Promenade des Anglais, by the McDonalds. This was further than I wanted, but I was genuinely uncomfortable about getting out where I%26#39;d planned, which was by the Beau Rivage Hotel. This was about 2 or 2.30 at night and it was heaving with prostitutes and kerb crawlers. I%26#39;m not squeamish, I lived close to a red light district in Nice many years ago and never felt scared, but this was different. Wherever you catch the bus, keep your wits about you, don%26#39;t dress provocatively and don%26#39;t be drunk. Once you%26#39;re on the bus, you%26#39;re fine as a security guy rides on it all night.

We have just returned from Villefranche, its a lovely
place but no transport after 8pm during the week, so dont get caught in Nice after that it cost us 60 € for a cab to our hotel! The night bus only runs thurs, fir %26amp; sat.
