Playing Games in Paris

Do any of you folks who live in Paris know if the place called Oya Cafe still exists? It is/was located in the 13e at 25 rue de la Reine Blanche (Metro: Gobelins). phone number: 01-47-07-59-59

Apparently the hours are/were Tues-Sat 2pm-12am and Sunday 2pm-9pm. Apparently it is for ages 6 and up. As best I can understand, it is a place to go to play games and have a soft drink/coffee. You can also purchase any of the games there which you enjoy. I haven%26#39;t heard of any of the games mentioned so I am guessing they are French games--board games??

Here is one of several sites (this one is in French) which discuss the place and how much people enjoy it.

This might be a great place to either take kids or for adults to check out who have the time in Paris to explore something other than the usual sites.

Bump! Any Paris regulars or natives who know about this? Thanks.

Sorry to be a pain about this but I would love a response. Thanks.

Hi,

Playing cards and board games is my favorites hobby, especially when it comes to Paris which is my favorite city 

I%26#39;m not local, but I can tell you that this place exists. I planned to take my sister to OYA, so I went to check how to locate it and what the opening hours are. Unfortunately, eventually my sister and I didn%26#39;t have time to go there so there%26#39;s something left for my next trip to Paris.

You can see their catalog in their site http://www.oya.fr/

And if we%26#39;re talking about games, I MUST mention Variantes – it’s a wonderful and unique small shop in Paris (http://www.variantes.com/). Going there and buying myself a new deck of cards becomes my %26quot;routine%26quot; whenever I%26#39;m in Paris.

And a couple of days ago, I discovered (on the internet, I%26#39;ll definitely go there next time when I%26#39;m in Paris…) a museum of playing cards (Le Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer). There are plenty of activities there, you can download for free the audioguide, and there%26#39;s also a boutique of the museum.

See the details on issy.com/index.php/…musee_de_la_carte_a_jouer and on http://www.issy.com/musee/

By the way, although the museum is located on Issy (16, rue Auguste Gervais

92130, Issy-Les-Moulineaux) you can take from Paris metro #12 to Mairie d%26#39;Issy station (notice that this station doesn%26#39;t require a special rate ticket, so you can use a %26quot;regular%26quot; metro ticket or your free daily/weekly pass)

Please tell me if anything else is needed

Thank you so much OhadB for all of this information. I will check out the cards museum, etc. too.

Has anyone else actually been to the Oya Cafe?

I thought I would bump this one last time to see if anyone else has any feedback about Oya Cafe. Thanks.
