We are renting a small villa near to the above village.
We were just wondering did anyone have any general advise on dinning near by and are there any bars at all in the area, we know that its a very rural place.
Any tips on driving in the pyrenees, any good walk routes etc..
Much appreciated.

I was just there last week...found a pretty nice restaurant/hotel with terrace right next to the river...when you come in the main street, cross the first pretty blue bridge.
The entire area is easy to drive around. I did not find the food a highlight in this area but the Hotel Chaumiere in Quillan can be good (excellent foie gras with pear)- 3 courses for 22 euro.
The restaurant located at the Monestery turned hotel in Alet les bains was good too for more country style food - garlic frog legs, fresh river trout, frites, etc. Reasonably priced.

I had a coffee on the terrace at the hotel in Alet Le Bain next to the monastry ruins two weeks ago and popped into look at the restaurant, looks quite good. I can%26#39;t comment on the quality unfortunately, I%26#39;m not that interested in food, I%26#39;m a bit of a philistine I%26#39;m afraid.
The area is beautiful, Couiza, Rennes le Chateau
