Is it worth driving from Biarritz to Nice

Thinking of flying into Biarritz and out of Nice and spending a few days getting between the two towns. Is it a nice drive? Are the nice towns to see or stay over in? Any recommendations? Thanks.

It%26#39;s a fabulous drive with plenty of variety in the routes you can take. As for towns, where to start? Carcassonne, Nimes, Arles, Avignon, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, St Tropez... And they%26#39;re just the ones that spring quickly to mind. Heck, there are loads! Your trouble will be deciding what towns to fit into the timeframe that you have!

Depending on the time of year, you could just drive and see where you end up each day. If you%26#39;re travelling at peak time, perhaps buy (or borrow) a good guide book and read up a bit on southern France, then come back to TripAdvisor for advice on hotels in places that grab your interest and book ahead.

If you can, try to make time to fit in a back road or two (so you%26#39;re not always on major highways or autoroutes) and amble around some small towns. This, for us, is one of the great pleasures of driving in France!

Have a great trip.

I%26#39;m thinking of doing the same drive in June, any idea how long it takes to drive from Biarritz to Nice? Are the major routes scary stressful driving?
