Villefranche walk

I read somewhere that you can walk from Villefranche sur mer to Villa Ephrussi de Rothchild. If this is true is it easy to find the footpath and how long would it take or should i travel by bus

Depending on how fast you walk it takes 30 mins to an hour. Climb the steps at the eastern end of the beach and go straight ahead, passing large villas on the right, one of which, Nellcote, used to be owned by the Rolling Stones. Continue to the traffic lights and cross with great care. On the other side of the road you will see a pharmacy. Beside the pharmacy there is a path which climbs along the spine of Cap Ferrat. Continue, with great views, until you are forced to turn left or right. Go left and down the steps until you arrive at a quiet road. Turn right here and you will soon arrive at the Eprussi. In my minority opinion the walk is more impressive than the villa!

There is also a local bus that will get you to the driveway of the villa. It does not run on Sundays. A taxi from the train station was about E15 for three of us. The staff at the gift shop desk will call a taxi for you when you are ready to leave.

You may want to ride up and then walk down.

Bah humbug, can%26#39;t let you away with that, LB, its beautiful and the national institute of beautiful French heritage places agrees with me. At least you can see around Ephrussi and inside, unlike the rest of the mafia and plutocrat chien mechant guarded mansions around the rest of the Cap.

Their webites been improved, in English: http://www.villa-ephrussi.com/en/ephrussi/

The only thing I will concede is the %26quot;dancing water fountains%26quot; are totally naff. Still I%26#39;m willing to overlook that for that double aspect view of the golden triangle.

Cheers. Here%26#39;s to Summer - if and when it ever arrives!
