My husband and I are going to Argeles sur Mer to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary in September for four days. We are flying to Perpignan airport. I am not sure whether it would be better to hire a car or just rely on taxis and public transport? We are staying in Auberge du Roua, which I understand is located on the outskirts of the town.

I would say it all depends on what you want to do during your 4 days in Argelès :
If you want to visit the area, you will certainly need a car.
If you plan to stay at the pool, you could take the shuttle bus from Perpignan airport to the station (5 km), then a train to Argelès (20 km) , then a taxi from Argeles station to the hotel (2 km).
