Monaco to Antibes

I%26#39;m on a cruise docking in Monaco in late August. How do I get from the dock onto a train (need schedules) and go to Antibes. Can I do this in a day and back?

I am not sure why you would choose Antibes over Monaco? I had a car there last summer and it was maybe 20-30minutes drive. Monaco is one of those once in lifetime cities, stay there for the day

Yes, Monaco is beautiful but we%26#39;ve seen it and we have a long day in port so we can still see part of it as well. Antibes was reported on a tv show and there is lots to see there.

I understand. Not to fault Antibes, but it is fairly far from Monaco. What about places like villefranche sur mer, or Eze. both are between Monaco and Nice. Or the other direction Menton is a nice town with a great beach and nice places to have lunch along the promenade

There%26#39;s also lots to see in Nice, and it would be a bit closer.

It%26#39;s a 1 hour train trip, very scenic, sit on the left of the train.

Here%26#39;s the timetable, but notice that it%26#39;s only to the end June 08.

What did the TV programme recommend seeing when you get there?

Thanks for your reply.

I can%26#39;t put my hand on the tv program notes I made however I did look up through the Antibes on http://www.tripadvisor.com/ and they recommended many things that they did on the program such as Picasso Museum, Museum of Archaeology - best to see the town on foot because of narrow streets in Old Town Antibes - supposed to be fortifications - it looked wonder on the tv show. regards Joanne Prince

Just got back from Antibes yesterday and whilst we were out there we drove from Antibes to Monaco for the day. Journey there took about 45 mins late morning but coming back we left rush hourish time around 5/6pm and it took ages! So it is do-able you just need to time it right.

Personally I prefer Antibes over Monaco but I did go on a day when the weather wasn%26#39;t great so that prob influenced my opinon.
