aix en provence day trip?

Am trying to find a nice day trip from Paris where we can really see a bit of the countryside, but not have to travel too far. Someone suggested Aix to see the Cezanne sights and the lovely town, but I%26#39;m concerned that it%26#39;ll be to long for a day trip. We%26#39;ve done Versailles and while it is amazing, you don%26#39;t really see countryside. Any other suggestions, or is Aix a good option?

Thanks.

I think you would spend most of the day on the train going there and back. Consider going to Amboise or Angers

Get a book by Annabel Simms called An Hour From Paris. It%26#39;s all villages outside Paris that are one hour or less by train. It gives the history of the village, how to get there and suggested walking routes and restaurants as well as some of the sights once you get there. Fun!

I may have written that title incorrectly. It may be ONE Hour From Paris. Too early/no coffee yet. Sorry.

I would agree that Aix is much to far for a day trip. It is worth at least a full day, say combined with a few days in Provence to include Avignon, Pont du Gard, and Arles to name but a few.
