weather

Is the weather as bad as the weather websites say it is. I%26#39;m hiking the mountain route starting Thursday,June 13, and don%26#39;t know what kind of clothes to pack. They are even saying it might snow!!! Jerry

What%26#39;s wrong with snow? Think layers. Bring stuff from the best and think LAYERS. Check out www.patagonia.com for gear. All hardcode ski patrollers will only use patagonia stuff. Even in France, it%26#39;s regarded as the best foreign brand.

Say No to Summer!

Go to www.chamonix.com and look at the weather link. Beleive what it says !!

I agree with IT-expert wear layers waterproof top layer is essential.

A little known fact is that more people die in the Chamonix valley outside of the ski season hiking and climbing.

Depending on what route you are hiking it is doubtful you will be much above 2000m if that is the case it will be rain.

So you will get wet and that means exposure. Wear layers etc. Goretex is best.

It%26#39;s been pretty bad - set to improve but I agree, you%26#39;ll definitely need waterproofs. People were skiing at the top of the Index lift at Flegere this weekend! On the other hand the flowers are all out lower down and I think there is forecast to be sun in the mornings next week so it depends very much on your path.

A good place to check conditions on your planned route is the Office de Haute Montagne - you can ring them as there%26#39;s always an English speaker there,
