bus tours

I will be in Paris (at CDG airport) on June 8th from 12 noon until 8 PM with my 13 year old grandson. We would like to take a (bus) tour of major sights. Any suggestions. Thanks.........

So long as your luggage is checked through, you can probably get into Paris and back nicely. But, if your flight is at 8PM, you%26#39;d want to be back at CDG by 5, no later than 6PM.

If it%26#39;s a nice day, highly recommend L%26#39;Opentour, the hop on/hop off buses with open air upper decks. Fantastic views. The commentary is not excellent, but okay.

My recommendation would be to take the RER to Saint-Michel/Notre Dame, walk around a bit, then hop on L%26#39;Opentour.

Hi Anita!

Lots of opinions whether it%26#39;s safe to leave CDG when you have a connecting flight. Where are you arriving from? Do you need to clear customs? Is your departing flight leaving from the same terminal? Are your bags going to be checked through to your final destination?

Unfortunately, the 8th is a Sunday, so my understanding is that the Bus line #69 will not be running. I%26#39;ve never used the Hop-on/Hop-off tours, so I can%26#39;t help you there except that the tour busses are a lot more expensive. Since you%26#39;ve only got a good 3 hours, have you considered a taxi?

A taxi might be a little expensive, but fare for 2 on a bus tour would be around $50 Euro anyway. Otherwise, search %26quot;bus tours%26quot; - you%26#39;ll get the details there. However, I would make sure you start heading back to CDG by 4:00-4:30.

Actually, it is fortunate to be doing this on a Sunday, when the traffic is lightest!

It doesn%26#39;t matter that a few city bus routes will not be operating (such as #69).

I think that CDG is much less busy on Sundays as well. At least that%26#39;s been our experience. And, our flights usually depart between 4 and 7 or 8, and there%26#39;s been no backup at security (which does not mean that you shouldn%26#39;t allow plenty of time).

Again, my recommendation would be to take the RER into Paris. Taking a taxi back would cost more, but give you a bit more time in Paris, since you can grab a taxi from wherever you happen to be when it%26#39;s time to return.
