We%26#39;ve taken that exact train several times although not in the last couple of years. When we last took it, here what we experienced:

%26lt;%26lt;Are cabins secure?%26gt;%26gt; Yes. We were given a hotel-style card key.

%26lt;%26lt;Is breakfast provided?%26gt;%26gt; A continental breakfast only as in an airline %26quot;wake up breakfast%26quot;

%26lt;%26lt;Dining car on train?%26gt;%26gt; No.

%26lt;%26lt;Towels etc provided?%26gt;%26gt; We were provided towels, toiletries, etc. The shower (one at the end of the car) was spotless and the hot water worked fine. Each cabin has a sink with hot water.

Please post about your train ride here... we will be booking soon for that train in July. A triple for my wife and I and 8 year old daughter... should be quite an adventure for her!

We just had our Vacation in Paris and took the over night to Venice. The dining car dinner is expensive and you would do better with a sandwhich. Now the important stuff. We were on the train May 20th 2008, yeah a week or so ago. We had dinner with a older couple from Canada and they had a Coacheete with the sliding doors, we had a cabin with the swinging door that swings out. A few days after we were in Venice this couple sat done with us at a cafe by our hotel. They told us they had gone to sleep after dinner and their sliding door when locked still opened 5 to 6 inches. They went to sleep and someone used gas on them., knocked them out in their sleep and stole 2000 euros from them. They also said 3 others had been robbed in the same way. I had an alarm on my door that I brought with us. But really it was so hard to open our door it was just a safety piece of mind thing. We also rode the Euro Star from Venice to Florence and then another from Florence to Rome. You put your luggage at the end of the car. I used a Bike lock with a cable and secured the suitcases to each other and the rack. It is just to easy for someone to pick up your suitcase and walk out into the crowd. The Breakfast on the train is brought to you. It is coffee and rolls. The Vaporetto number 82 in Venice is now #2. Trent

My son went with a youth group on this train. He said it was a blast, but the person who sleeps at the very top (3rd bed up) gets really hot.

Pelican Bill: My sons tip for your 8 year old is to buy them a box of cereal and a can of Pringles to munch on. He got these at the Venice train station. It is funny how kids come up with these ideas.
