limo service in paris

hi:

we are staying at George V in Paris on July 19th - we called the hotel for details on pick up at the airport and they quoted 257 each way! WOW! anyone have other services that are reliable and trustworthy? also anyone had any experience with hiring a car and driver that can tour the city for a day?

The George V limo service includes being met at the plane and whisked through customs! If you have the money it might be worth it for the experience.

We have used Grey Shuttle and found them to be very reasonable. They meet you at the gates and are as good as any limo service, but with a less fancy car. I do not know if they do day tours.

There are also plenty of taxis which will cost between E30 and E50 to get you into central Paris. The taxis we have used have all been very clean and efficient with polite drivers.

I%26#39;m sorry I don%26#39;t have experience of hiring a car and driver for the city tour, but I did see one advertised with 2CVs instead of limos, and it looked like really good fun.

HI TiggerTigger:

Thanks for the quick response - good to know about being whisked thru security/customs! Have you stayed at George V before?

What is: 2CVs instead of limos, and it looked like really good fun.

Not sure what 2CV%26#39;s are? where did you see the info on the tour?

The hotel also suggested a tour they organize for their guests with a car and personal tour guide which sounds wonderful but have no idea of the price I am awaiting an email from them to see more details.

Thanks!

I haven%26#39;t stayed at George V but I have eaten at their restaurant and I can tell you that the hotel and service are impeccable.

A 2CV is a very French car, it looks like a snail on wheels and is very cute. It has its own page on Wikipedia if you want to see what it looks like.

I have not taken one myself but I thought they looked rather good fun. Personally I prefer to walk/metro my way around Paris but I have been many times. If it is your first visit then this might be a nice way to see what the city has to offer.

Thanks again!

This my wife%26#39;s first visit and I have not been in Paris for 18 years! So it will be like our first time there! We also like to walk and explore once we have our bearings.

Learning so much about Paris and all the local nuisances is very exciting we end up in Paris after a Baltic cruise so we may be castled and touristed out by the time we arrive in paris.

Thanks!

There was virtually no customs and immigration when we arrived and taxis are very plentiful and just a 2 minute line for one.

Have the hotel address in writing to give to the driver.

Cormar -

I%26#39;m also staying at the George V in July and found the %26quot;meet and greet%26quot; service - that%26#39;s what they call it - to be a very nice convenience (I%26#39;ve used it in other country%26#39;s) but extremely overpriced.

I found and booked a limo company - Must Limo - with great reviews in TA that charges $190 euros round/trip for the airport transfer. They would even have champagne and flowers in the car for an extra charge. They also offer a driver and a car for a day to tour the city, go shopping or just to keep while yo go out at night for an hourly rate. their fleet is comprised of Mercedes, BMWs and Audis. I confirmed that all models are 2007 and beyond.

Check them out on line at www.mustlimousines.com.

You can also chat online with them.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Get a taxi at the curb. It is very practical and reasonable.

Good for you to stay at Georges V. They have the best flower arrangements in town (american designer) but price of limo is completely out of line with Parisian reality.
