Louvre at Wednesdays and Fridays

Hello all :)

I%26#39;ve been reading and found out that Louvre close only at 9:45 PM in Wednesdays and Fridays. Is it a good idea to go there, let me say... about 4 or 5PM?

How is the crowd? I%26#39;ve read somewhere in TA that it may be a good time to go there.

I am wondering about this as well... we will be returning from a trip to Giverny Friday afternoon, and our tour returns to Tuileries area. We were thinking to maybe explore that area, grab a snack, and then hit the Louvre late afternoon early evening, and ideally miss the mad crowds.

Any insights on the Friday late afternoon/early evening idea would be greatly appreciated!

I personally love visiting the Louvre into the later evening. I haven%26#39;t thought the crowds particularly bad at all.

The crowds may heavier during the summer months, but still thin out towards evening.

And it%26#39;s really great to come out and see the courtyard and pyramids lit up at night.

I will be visiting in September and going to the Louvre on Friday for the later visit.
