Fastest way to visit Chateau Chenonceau

We have a very tight schedule and will be arriving in the Amboise/Chenonceaux area around noon one day in June. Is it faster to get tickets for Chateau Chenonceau at the Amboise tourist office or directly at the Chateau? Sadly, we cannot linger too long so we would like to save any unnecessary minutes possible. Thanks.

If your schedule is so tight that five minutes at the ticket office at Chenonceau will make a difference, then the problem is with your itinerary, and not with the chateau.

Chenonceau is not a drive-by. The walk from the ticket office to the chateau itself is 10 minutes or so...and it would be an absolutely pity to miss the gardens and the river. The tour itself will take you a couple of hours to complete -- if you%26#39;re hurrying.

France is not a marathon to be stuffed to bursting with places to see. Slow down and enjoy what you see.

Chennonceau is not that close to Amboise and I should be surprised if the Office de Tourisme in Amboise actually sells tickets to Chateau Chenonceau (but then I have never really asked them).

If your schedule is really that close, I recommend your skipping Amboise altogether. Chenonceau (and Chateau Chambord) are much more compelling visits.

You can get a pass for 3 chateaux (Amboise, Chenenceau and Clos Luce) for 28.50 euro instead of 30 euro if bought seperately at each places. I personally won%26#39;t bother and just by them at the entrance. I was terribly disappointed with Clos Luce which lacks any character or charm but Chenenceau was IMHO the most impressive, do make time to wonder in both gardens.
